ESD Coated PVC plates for Soft X-ray Ionization Radiation Shielding Protection

Product Introduction

Front-end FPD Manufacturers (Array Fab and Cell Assembly) encounter severe electrostatic problems due to numerous handlings of large size glasses.

In order to obtain wide coverage of electrostatics neutralization of the entire large glass substrates (eg. G6 glass 1850*1500), and windless concern for particle contamination controls, each FPD front-end manufacturer would input soft X-ray ionization into many processes of their production lines. However, FPD manufacturers must guarantee personnel radiation safety in exposure to these soft X-rays.

The industrial personnel radiation protection standard issued by ICRP (International Commission of Radiological Protection) defines the radiation exposure control limits as:

1) Occupational Exposure of effective dose: no larger than 100mSv for averaged over 5 consecutive years and less than 50mSv for each single year.

2) Public Exposure: less than 1mSv each year.

PVC plastics of plates would be good choice of candidate materials to FPD manufacturers for radiation shielding protection against soft X-ray ionizers and also obtain transparency for regular production inspection and electrostatics protection as well.
